Caravan & Mobile Home Safety

Caravan On FireCaravan On Fire

Every year in the UK fire within caravans and mobile homes kill around 9 people and injure about 100. During your stay in North Norfolk, we want you to remain safe from fire. Simply follow these few simple steps:

  • Ensure you fit or have a working smoke alarm installed.
  • Test your smoke alarm weekly to ensure it is still working.
  • Never leave a cooker that's in use unattended.
  • Ensure electrical wiring is in good condition, ideally have it checked by a competent electrician annually.
  • Do not use multi adapters.
  • Be carefull with lit cigarettes. Clothes, hair and furniture can easily catch fire.
  • Do not place items to close to heaters.
  • Caravans should be positioned no less than 6 metres apart.
  • Keep matches, lighters and firelighters away from children.
  • Make sure your gas bottle (LPG) is outside on level ground and away from heat sources.
  • Ensure all gas connections and pipework are in good condition
  • Consider fitting a fire blanket and or for extinguisher to your caravan.

In the event of fire raise the alarm as soon as possible!
